Who We Are

MLYO is the Montana Lutheran Youth Organization, a youth ministry of the Montana Synod.  It is open to all youth who are involved in a local congregation of the Montana Synod, and who are 14-18 years old and/or in grades 9-12.

Our purpose is

• to proclaim through our words, actions, fellowship and worship, and to teach through Bible study and other activities the reconciling gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
• to model the inclusivity and unity that is God’s will for the church
• to provide opportunities for youth to grow and be stewards and leaders within the church
• to work cooperatively with congregational, synodical, regional and churchwide ministries of the church, especially in the area of youth ministry
• to offer insight into issues affecting  youth and youth ministries
• to be a resource for congregations and youth group leaders as they seek to develop and strengthen their youth ministries.

What We Do

• Get together for MLYO’s Fall Gathering  - usually in November.
• Meet at Spring Convo – usually during the annual Synod Assembly.
       Registration
       Scholarship
• Offer Moseleadrium (mose-a-lead-ree-um) leadership training school.

At each of these events, we worship, have Bible study, do servant projects, and have way too much fun!  We make lasting friendships with people all across our synod, and get a chance to walk with each other in our journeys of faith.

Dates for the 2010 MLYO Fall Gathering are Nov. 12-14, 2010 at the Red Lion Colonial Hotel in Helena, MT!

Why We Need YOU

Just as the human body is incomplete and incapable of achieving its full potential if some part of it is missing, we are incomplete as the body of Christ and incapable of achieving our full potential if YOU are missing.
